A modest brown-paper envelope on a kitchen dresser at Aubourn, marked in fountain pen 'Winter Fund 2026'.
Donate · the Winter Fund 2026

A small gift, a quiet thank-you note, and a kettle that keeps boiling.

Our donate page is for old friends of Aubourn, former parishioners, and anyone who would like to keep a small village endowment going for another generation.

Most of our donors give once a year, by standing order, in January. A handful give monthly. We are grateful for either.

Card details

We do not store card details on this site. (See note below.)

A note on payments: this site is hosted without a payment processor. The form above demonstrates the gift you intend to make; you will be invited to confirm by replying to the receipt email or — if you prefer — by standing order to our bank account, the details of which are on our contact page. We do this on purpose: it keeps our running costs at nil and our trustees in direct touch with our donors.

Where your gift goes

Into one of four small purses, never further.

By default we pay donations into the Winter Fund, our seasonal emergency pot for households facing the worst of the winter fuel costs. If you would like your gift directed to a specific programme — Kitchen-Table Grants, the Summers Bursaries, Quiet Hour or the Parish Wellbeing Fund — please mention it in the email you reply to.

We do not pay administration costs out of donations. All trustees serve unpaid; we claim no expenses. Investment management, audit and Charity Commission filing are paid out of investment income and the small annual surplus.

Receipts are sent by email within seven days. Gift Aid claims are made annually in the autumn. We will write to you twice a year with our quarterly dispatch (a single sheet, posted from Aubourn) so you can see what the money has done.

Other ways to give: standing order, bequest, or a cheque.

Cheques payable to 'Estate Charity of Sir Christopher Nevile' may be sent to The Old Vicarage, Church Lane, Aubourn, Lincoln LN5 9DT.
